ISRO said that it would undertake "extremely good" experiments and try out new technologies. (via Hindustan times)

Weight limitation is overall boundary within which we have to work", Prof U R Rao, who chaired the national committee of experts drawn from ISRO centres, academic institutions and R&D laboratories which finalised the payloads to be flown on board Chandrayaan-2 (orbiter and rover), told PTI.

Well as ISRO deliberate their "extremely good" experiments, I ask you, the would be aerospace engineers of India, to fire up your imagination engine and tell us what experiments will you put on Chandrayaan 2?

The 52-hour countdown for Chandrayaan-1 - India's first unmanned moon mission – has began at Sriharikota spaceport early on Monday for Wednesday's historic launch.

The integrated launch vehicle has already been moved into the second launch pad (umbilical tower) and launch rehearsals are underway, sources in India Space Research Organisation at Bangalore said.

"All the preparatory work is going as usual and the formal countdown would begin tomorrow morning about 0400 hrs," Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SDSC) Associate Director Dr M Y S Prasad told PTI at Chennai.


"All the work including the checking of payloads went satisfactorily. The spacecraft launch would take place as per the schedule," he said.

Chandrayaan is Scheduled to launch on October 22nd if weather God permits. Here in this post I am publishing some quick facts of the mission that will help you understand the mission better.

Chandrayaan-1 is a scientific investigation – by spacecraft – of the Moon.The name Chandrayaan means 'Chandra- Moon , Yaan-vehicle', –in Indian languages (Sanskrit and Hindi) , – the lunar spacecraft. Chandrayaan-1 is the first Indian planetary science and exploration mission.

Well the world is eagerly waiting for the chandrayaan mission launch but it seems everyone in ISRO is busy preparing for the launch of chandrayaan on October 22nd 2008.
