Chandrayaan is Scheduled to launch on October 22nd if weather God permits. Here in this post I am publishing some quick facts of the mission that will help you understand the mission better.

By now everyone knows Chandrayaan-1, Indian's first spacecraft to get go to moon is about to launch on October 22nd 2008!! but a site called hubdub.com is running an interesting silly prediction  that aims to answer the question ?

India's maiden moon mission, Chandrayaan-1, is scheduled to take off from Sriharikota at 6.20 am on October 22, ISRO officials said on Monday.
"We are definitely targeting October 22. But if the weather becomes unfavorable, we will postpone the launch to October 23. The window of opportunity will remain open till October 26.We are keeping our fingers crossed and praying that the weather gods will be on our side on October 22," an official said.

The 'Chandrayaan mission' will give Indian scientists an opportunity to become international players in space expedition, giving them an equal footing with their global partners, a top space scientist has said.


"We must go to the moon and this is important because it gives an opportunity for Indian scientists to become international players," K Kasturirangan, Rajya sabha memeber and former Chairman of Indian space Research Organisation (ISRO) said adressing students at Centre for Basic sciences (CBS) here last evening.

"We must become equal global partners just as we are in the Antarctic expeditions," he said.

Chandrayaan-1 is an Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) mission designed to orbit the Moon over a two year period with the objectives of upgrading and testing India's technological capabilities in space and returning scientific information on the lunar surface.
